Ah, shoelaces properly tied and love properly attended to! At first love is automatic, but it requires careful attention, with no twisting and no knots.
I must agree with you granbee.
Love does need to be attended to for it to last.
I remember learning how to tie shoelaces. It seemed so important at the time… 🙂

Perspective is an interesting thing.
It was important. It was as if the whole world continuing to spin depended on it 🙂
My almost 6 year old still doesn’t know how to tie his laces 🙂
Rasha,
Your six-year-old is probably preoccupied with more interesting things 🙂
What a beautiful poem, using the simplicity of learning to tie our shoes as a metaphor for love. Nice!
Thanks Michelle!
I’m happy you like it.
I hope it doesn’t seem so odd now that I walk around with a camera taking photos all the time, especially of the shoes of strangers’ children 🙂
The last stanza is just magnicent; the turn so deftly done!
It is a pleasure to read your work!!
Honestly I’m not illiterate…I have a cantankerous keyboard.
The word sould be ‘magnificent’ Your poem is!!
I read your poetry so I know you’re not illiterate 🙂
Thanks for the great feedback!
Big smile : )
I am very impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your own site. Is this a paid template or did you customise it your self? Either way continue the fine quality posting, it’s rare to see a decent weblog similar to this one these days.
Thanks for the supportive comments!
It’s not a paid template. It’s a WordPress theme I’ve made some small adjustments to: MistyLook.
