My life
Is
A vapour
That has willed me
From
The moment of my birth
When
The light of the world
Seeped
Through
The calm comfort
Cradling me
And
Seduced me
To follow it
In to
This fractured place
That changes
As
I grow
Up and in and outward
Obtaining new perspectives
Which
Are
Temporary
Fleeting
And
Quickly
Passing away
Before
I have had my fill
Of
Whimsical enjoyment
To
Render me breathless
My life
Is
A vapour
Unable to settle
And
Become
Cemented
Because
It is necessary
For
Awakened spirits
To
Roam
Free

Love this…
Thanks Greg!
I like the idea of being vapour, of being unsettled, always searching for new things…. nice!
Thanks Clarice!
I think it’s natural to be curious about the world around us.The hunger for knowledge keeps us creative,
I agree!
The hunger for knowledge also keeps us young!
I like that vapor in this case represent something positive rather than something lacking substance…e.g. vaporware.
Thank you!
The post that inspired this piece (http://bit.ly/ILX6pe) quotes a Bible verse. A part of it states, “You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes”. I like to think that the lives we live hold more significance than that.
Nice point of view.. the vapor..
Thanks Laura!
I love the last few lines. beautifully and succinctly sums up the feeling of the poem. keep sharing!
Thank you Denny!
interesting poem, thought provoking as well.. well done , Tricia .
Ciao, Francina
Thanks Francina!
Our spirits should always float free like a vapour. The soul is not meant to be confined. Wonderful post on this truth.
Thanks granbee!
I agree with you 100% 🙂
