Confession: I’m easily distracted by bright colours and shiny things.

Sometimes this can be good thing.

In this case, it led me to discover that Vickie Szumigala had nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award. I have often visited her site, but this particular post drew me in: Sunflowers…..Buds To Blooms. It displays a brilliant yellow sunflower from a variety of angles, which made it impossible for me not to take a closer look.

Vickie thanks for nominating me for this award!

As with most awards in our vast blogging community, there are rules. You must thank the person who nominated you and link back to their site. Done and done. You must also share 7 things about yourself (this is never easy for me); then pass the award on to 10 other bloggers and notify them of the nomination.

Here we go…

7 Things About Me

1. I don’t understand why people are mean to each other because it
takes much less energy and effort to be nice
2. I dance when I’m alone
3. I have supportive friends
4. I try my best to support my friends
5. I always carry an umbrella, but don’t always use it
6. I believe the digital divide needs to be eliminated
7. I had a lisp when I was a child

An Aussie bloke I’ve never met says I inspire him.

The inspiration is definitely mutual.

I write and take pictures.

He draws and designs structures. Two things I can only dream about having the talent to do. I also enjoy reading the back-stories that describe the sometimes frustrations, but always great pleasure he finds while recreating the human form as he sees it.

He has nominated me for the Inspiring Blog Award.

Thanks Michael!

Walking
On
The shady side of the street
Cools me
As
The clip of my stride
Quickens
Pumping
Blood
Through
My body
At
A rate
That
Would cause
Other liquids
To boil

While
The leaves
Of
Canopying branches
Fan
My head
As
They are stirred
By
The same breezes
That
Dance
Between
My thoughts

Not exactly
A yellow brick road
But
These stones
Are
Littered
With
Gold buds

That
Have fallen
In sacrifice
To make way
For
The full foliage
That
Will follow
And
Sway
Above
Us
In the glow
Of
Warm
Golden
Days

We must
Hold on
To
Optimism
Even
When
Hurdles are erected
Along
The path

That
Routes
Us
To
The fulfillment
Of
Our
Individual destinies
Which
Are
All
Linked
By
A collective desire
To
Succeed

Nature’s bells
Ring
Drawing
Our attention
To
The awakening
Of
The world
From
Its slumber

As
A new season
Arrives
To cast colour
Up on
What
Lay
Hidden
But
Now
Bursts forth
With
Blue brightness
As
Each chime
Spreads
The news
Of
Change

Time
Has
Bonded me
To each of you
Since
The starting line
When
The first trigger
Prompted us
To spring forward
With actions
To change
The world
Around
Our bodies

And
The bodies
With
Which
We will collide
As we travel
Between
Life’s challenges
Boldly
Conquering obstacles
With
The knowledge
We have collected
In preparation
For
Our individual journeys

Time
Has
Bonded me
To each of you
And
I am confident
The great distances ahead
Will
Never
Be crossed
Alone
Because
Even in separation
We
Are
Together
