THE SHADY SIDE OF THE STREET
May 23, 2012 by PhotoPoetics™
Walking
On
The shady side of the street
Cools me
As
The clip of my stride
Quickens
Pumping
Blood
Through
My body
At
A rate
That
Would cause
Other liquids
To boil

While
The leaves
Of
Canopying branches
Fan
My head
As
They are stirred
By
The same breezes
That
Dance
Between
My thoughts

These words will set the pace for my evening race-walk; I just know it! Love the photo of this wonderful paving stone walkway etched with tree-trunk shadows!
Thanks granbee!
I hope your walk was invigorating 🙂
The picture as always is the perfect compliment to the poem, but this poem stands alone! The words are so descriptive and conjur up their own street!
Thanks Bonnie!
It took many attempts to capture an image that I felt matched the poem.
I now have a collection of shady sidewalk shots 🙂
Love the city picture, shady trees and neat sidewalk. Thanks for sharing. Thanks also for visiting my blog!
Bridget,
I was drawn to your site by the vivid colours in your images.
Thanks and you’re welcome!
