Blue sky
The backdrop
For
A panorama of colour
Tangerine-red
Flickering
Like a flame
In
A warm welcoming fire
While
Sun-drenched yellow
Kisses
The lips
Of
A radiant body
Colours
Randomly woven
In to
A bright tapestry
Soon
Only to exist
In the folds of our minds
Like a childhood dream
Too far
To be remembered well
When
Just the instant before
It could have been
Reached for
Touched
And
The crackling
Of
The colours
Heard
As
The leaves
Splintered
Between
My fingers
On a fall day

I can not recall
Leaves
So green
Vibrant
Plump
With
Life and light
Vividly vibrating
With universal energy
That sets them apart
From
This world
Green
That sits
Above
Beyond
And
Before
The gloom
Of
Heavy gray clouds
Weighted
With the freshness and clarity
Of
What will be rain
Green
That has caught
My attention
And
My awareness
And
Become riveted
Within the sight of my eyes
Today
I trust my experience
To know
That
As never before
In my lifetime
I see
Green
