Blue sky
The backdrop
For
A panorama of colour
Tangerine-red
Flickering
Like a flame
In
A warm welcoming fire
While
Sun-drenched yellow
Kisses
The lips
Of
A radiant body
Colours
Randomly woven
In to
A bright tapestry
Soon
Only to exist
In the folds of our minds
Like a childhood dream
Too far
To be remembered well
When
Just the instant before
It could have been
Reached for
Touched
And
The crackling
Of
The colours
Heard
As
The leaves
Splintered
Between
My fingers
On a fall day

The clouds
Permitting me
