Cools me
As
The clip of my stride
Quickens
Pumping
Blood
Through
My body
At
A rate
That
Would cause
Other liquids
To boil

While
The leaves
Of
Canopying branches
Fan
My head
As
They are stirred
By
The same breezes
That
Dance
Between
My thoughts

But
These stones

Littered

Gold buds

Have fallen
In sacrifice
To make way
For
The full foliage
That
Will follow
And
Sway
Above
Us
In the glow
Of
Warm
Golden
Days
