Lips
Keep secrets
Swearing
Never to repeat
What was shared
To lighten the burdens
Life lodges
Deeply within our souls
Pockets
Hold treasures
Pushing
Against seams
As if plotting
To escape
The curiosity
That lives in small fingers
Coats
Store warmth
Shutting out
Cold
Stirred by stinging winds
As
Days grow short
And
The sun seeks rest
Under dusk’s early arrival
Blouses
Throw shadows
Hinting
At the softness
Of
Feminine curves
That lay
Beneath the filmy shield
Of
Silken fabric
Holes
Close openings
Protecting
Precious places
Ensuring privacy
As long as
They remain
Securely buttoned
